I offer freelance marketing support for small businesses, drawing on my past experience of running my own business and helping others with theirs. A little bit about me...

What seems like an eternity ago now, I worked in banking and progressed into senior management. However, I came to realise that this wasn't where my passion lay, so I took the leap, left the bank and set about building my own retail business with a company called Kleeneze.

What started as a door step catalogue business, quickly grew into an international online retail business.

This was where I first discovered just how effective social media, paid advertising, customer engagement and email marketing were when growing a business.

After several successful years, I realised that while I loved the online business world, what I particularly enjoyed was helping other people develop their own businesses.

My background in freelance marketing support

Over the years I've helped a range of businesses and teams with their marketing, although initially simply as Craig Skellern rather than as a freelance marketing support business.

Most recently, I've supported network marketing teams, worked with Things Around The Home, NaNa's Thai Kitchen in Scotland and provided hands-on marketing support for Deer's Glade and Deer's Mead campsites, turning their low / mid season bookings into that of a high season.

Outside of marketing...

For the past three years, I've experienced full-time travel with my wife, daughter, son and dog, visiting some incredible places across Europe. Our son has since headed off on adventures of his own with the Royal Navy.

Along the way, we created Road School Adventures and built an extended online community of over 37,000 people across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, sharing our travels, how we educate our daughter and the realities of earning remotely.

We've now settled in Norfolk for a while and really enjoy what the area has to offer.

Why me and why Craig Skellern Marketing?

First of all, I've worked on both sides of the advertising budget.

I know what it's like when every pound being spent on advertising is coming directly out of your own business and the anxiety this can casue.

I've built my own social media presence from scratch, dealt with customers when things have gone brilliantly... and when they haven't. I've also created email campaigns for my own businesses, managed paid advertising and had to get out there and create the content myself.

That experience has shaped the way I work today.
